Artist Biography

Alison B. Antelman exhibits and sells her work from her studio, galleries and at craft shows nationally. Her work is published in International curated Jewelry exhibition 2021 by Adorn Axis, New Bracelets 2021 Promo press in UK, JCK Magazine Luster For Life-5 sterling brands you may not have heard of (yet) by Brittany Siminitz in March/April, 2017, Art Jewelry Today 4, 2016 by Schiffer Publishing. She is a 2015 Niche Award Winner for her Hanging Garden Necklace and was awarded First Place in the 2014 Charles Lewton Brain Fold-Forming Competition along with several juror’s choice awards. She has also received numerous awards at craft shows; Francis Gordon Jewelry Award at Brookside Art Annual in2021, Honorable Mention at Lakefront Festival of Art 2019, Award of Distinction at CraftBoston Holiday 2018, 2017 and 2015 Best in Jewelry and 2013 Best in Show at the Sun Valley Center Arts & Crafts Festival in Ketchum, Idaho and 2013 Best in Show at the Scottsdale Arts Festival in Scottsdale, AZ; 2012 Merit Award at Main Street Arts Festival in Fort Worth, Texas; 2010 & 2009 Best of Jewelry and 2008 People’s Choice at Sun Valley Center Arts & Crafts Festival in Ketchum, Idaho; 2009 Best of Show-Jewelry at Park City Kimball Arts Festival in Park City, Utah.             

            Alison has participated in many exhibitions including, The Art of Metalsmithing Exposed 2019 at Artlink Galley in Fort Wayne, Indiana; Clasps: Functional Adornment 2018 at Macchiarini Creative Design Gallery in San Francisco, CA; Wearable Expressions 2017 at the Palos Verdes Art Center in Ranchos Palos Verdes, CA; Everyday Earrings art EatMetal Gallery in Hoboken, N.J.; The Power and Beauty, in conjunction with the SNAG conference in 2015, at Alchemy 925 in Belmont, MA; a National Jewelry Design Competition at The Durango Arts Center in Colorado; Mobilia Gallery, Cambridge, MA; Peninsula School of Art in Fish Creek, WI; Facere’ Gallery in Seattle, WA, along with many galleries in California and throughout the country. 

            She has written several articles for Metalsmith Tech; Lapidary Journal’s Jewelry Artist Magazine, A Guide To An Organic Creative Process, also featured on the Doer’s page of the September/October 2016 issue; Her work is published in MJSA Journal in 2017; Western Art and Architecture magazine in the November 2015 issue; Art jewelry Magazine March, 2015; Lark Books Showcase 500 Art Necklaces-2013Art Jewelry Today 3-2011 by Schiffer Publishing, San Francisco Chronicle article Five Jewelry Artists To Seek Out by Sylvia Rubin 2011, Lark Books 500 Gemstone Jewels-2010, Lapidary Journal’s Jewelry Artist magazine including an article in the September/October 2016 issue along with an interview, the magazine also featured her work for fold-forming in May 2012, mechanisms and hinges December 2011 and Pendants in 2010.

  Alison teaches classes and workshops in person and now online at art centers including; Revere Academy, Mendocino Art Center and Richmond Art Center in California; Metalwerx in Waltham, MA; Creative Side Jewelry Academy in Austin, TX; Lillstreet in Chicago and at artist studios and schools, through Guilds across the country, as well as out of her own studio. She has recently moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico and will be hosting workshops and welcoming visitors to her new showroom and studio where she enjoys tall ceilings and natural light.
